Drive: W / ↑ accelerates. A / D or ← / → steers. S / ↓ brakes, then reverses at a stop. Gamepad: left stick, A accelerates, B brakes, RB drifts, X uses items. Phones have touch controls.

Drift: tap Shift to hop; hold it while steering into a corner to power slide. Counter-steer outward, then inward twice. Release once the smoke turns orange for a mini-turbo.

Items: collect the spinning boxes. Hold Space, gamepad X, or the item button to drag a single banana, shell, or fake box; release to deploy. Hold Up/W to throw bananas forward, or Down/S or Rear View to fire green shells backward. First press deploys triple shells or a five-banana train; press again to launch each. Golden Mushrooms allow repeated boosts for 10 seconds after first use. Blue shells run along the course toward the leader. Boo grants invisibility and an item chance in GP; online single races can steal a rival’s item. Stars protect for 10 seconds; Lightning shrinks vulnerable racers. Brake promptly after a banana wobble to recover. Players behind get stronger items.

Extra speed: start accelerating on “2” for a rocket start. Ride behind a rival to charge a slipstream boost.

Online: up to eight friends. Share your room before starting; bots fill vacant spots. Three laps per race. Each Cup awards 9 / 6 / 3 / 1 points to the top four finishers across its four courses. C or REAR VIEW looks behind. V or the camera button changes chase-camera distance. Auto-accelerate and Smart steering are optional.
